4:30 pm: Night Shoot4:30 pm: Night Shoot – BAYS 7&8
This shoot will be a structured course of fire with pre planned drills.
I will have drills and courses of fire drawn out for the attendees.
Rifle with slings optional but highly recommended.
Pistol with light and holster
Night vision but not required but please bring if you have them.
Handheld light or headlamp to see outside of the firing line.
Base round count will be 200 rounds per gun, but you may or may not shoot that much depending on how many people show but my competition shooter side says always to bring double the round count, you never know could be too cold and just be me and you.
This will be a rain or shine event, gear should be tested as well as you in all conditions. dress, accordingly, it was pretty cold last time.
All members and your guests (up to five per member but they are your responsibility) are welcome to the event. But I must advise this is not a beginner's course, this is a little more advanced training.
Please if you do not feel comfortable yet to shoot in the dark and feel you need some day training to attend a night shoot please contact me via email and I will be happy to give you a FREE beginner course as my free time allows to include drawing your gun, weapon transitions, reloads and movement and light manipulation.
I will also try and do a beginners night course of fire for the people who want to try but don’t want to be intimidated by some of the more advanced shooters. So hopefully either late February or early march for that class.
Please bear with me as this is a new format for me and the club and we work out the kinks. If you want to spectate and see and try gear, by all means.
If you’re an RSO and want to come help me, please do, I would greatly appreciate it because I too am doing this so that I can train in the dark as well.
Lastly, I schedule these classes on my days off but being a refinery worker there’s a possibility I get forced for a shift and I have to cancel the class, but it’s one day for the class and the next day I come back to police brass and any more clean up needed.
Thank you and again if you have any questions feel free to email me and I’ll get you your answers! Joshua.m.smith00@gmail.com
